Does The Devil Exist?

This is a question that is asked by many people.  Most of the world’s religions have their version of a being that is considered to be the embodiment of evil.

The short answer to this is that the popular conception of a being that is the supreme overseer of all things evil does not exist. That is not to say that evil actions do not exist, they most certainly do, however the only “recruitment” of people to evil actions comes from fellow human beings and not from any Spirit Being.

This also raises the question of what happens to the people whose actions whilst on the earth plane come into a category that would be considered to be evil, once they return to spirit. This has been touched upon in Heaven and Hell Explained but we feel that further explanation is now required.

Without a Devil to stoke the flames of eternal damnation, what happens to the people who have behaved in such a way as to cause serious harm to others?

Once the earthly life has ended, the spirit is helped to make the transition back into the spirit world. This happens even if the person has lived a life that would fill others with revulsion. It is neither desirable nor helpful to exclude any spirit from the spirit world.

The vast majority of spirits are simply met by guides and loved ones and allowed to take their own time coming to terms with the fact that the earthly life has ended and to deal with whatever karma has been accrued. However, when a spirit has lived an earthly life that has included serious crimes, they are met and immediately segregated from the rest of the spirit world. This is because such spirits bring a very negative energy with them that would affect the entire spirit world if allowed to.

This segregated area consists of three levels and which level an individual spirit initially goes to is dependant on their behaviour whilst on the earth plane. These three levels are designed to give each spirit the opportunity to understand their wrong doing, why it was wrong and the effects it had. It is only by doing this and then truly repenting and doing whatever is necessary to make reparation that they can begin to change the circumstances that their behaviour has brought them to.

These segregated areas are populated by spirits who are like themselves and therefore the energy in these areas is very negative and not somewhere pleasant to be, but this is not artificially engineered as a punishment. It is not necessary to do so as it is created naturally and is simply the result of the actions of these spirits. This paints a very bleak picture and indeed it would be irresponsible of us to try to sanitise this area and pretend that it is easier than the reality. However, it ought to be remembered that this area only exists out of necessity and is for the kind of extreme behaviour that causes serious harm whether to one person or to many.

We have mentioned 3 levels – it would be wrong on many counts to class all wrong doing as the same. Level 3 is the level that the worst perpetrators will be placed and as such is the least pleasant place to be and so on through the other two levels.

A spirit is always given the opportunity to understand the wrong they did whilst in a physical body even on level 3 of the segregated area, however understanding what they did is not enough to absolve their behaviour. They must be prepared to understand how their actions and decisions caused the people on the receiving end to feel and experience and to that end need to experience for themselves the pain, fear and torment that their victims felt.

Once they have done this, they then need to make reparation for what their behaviour caused. It is only through this that they may begin the process of working their way through the levels of the segregated area and this process will take as long as necessary.

We wish to make it clear that although every spirit returning home needs to understand how their behaviour whilst on the earth plane affected others, for the majority segregation is not necessary and although accrued karma will still need to be addressed, it can be dealt with under completely different circumstances.
