Believing in Healing
When Healers talk about their work and the ways in which Energy Healing can make a difference, they are sometimes met with the response "It wouldn't work for me because I don't believe in it!"
Is this true?
No - Healing is given to babies, children and animals, often with great benefit. None of them have the knowledge to form an opinion and all of them respond so well that they "look" for Healing when they need it.
You will have noticed that a crying baby, when not in need of food or a clean nappy, becomes calm when cradled by a loving adult. This is because when the adult is cradling the baby they are passing on energy. The calmer the adult is when they are helping the baby in this way, the easier it is for the energy to flow which is why some adults are able to calm babies more easily than others and such adults are often described as having "healing hands". Unless the adult has trained with Spirit they are giving the baby their own energy and this is why the main carer of a baby is often so tired at the end of the day. This may seem contrary to what is written in An Overview Of Spiritual Healing And Spirituality, but is in fact the natural order of things and is temporary therefore no long term harm results from energy being passed on in this way.
Animals
Animals often take this a stage further and are able to sense when people have developed their connection with Spirit. It is not unusual for an animal to present itself to a Healer in such a way as to allow the Healer to lay hands on an area where the animal is experiencing pain. The animal also knows when the flow of Healing Energy has finished - it will keep perfectly still while it receives the energy and move away or change its position when the flow stops.
Therefore, whilst it is undoubtedly true that a person who attends a Healing session with the intention of embracing the Healing Energy will receive the maximum help from that session, it is not necessary to believe in Spirit or in Healing Energy in order to gain benefit.
Can energy healing be refused?
It is also possible for either a person or an animal to refuse to accept the healing energy. In the case of animals, it is likely to happen when they are very old and suffering or if an injury leaves them with pain and little or no quality of life and they decide that they do not wish to prolong this earthly life.
It can happen with people for the same reasons but it can also happen if someone does not wish to get any better than they are. In some instances they may feel that too much will be expected of them if they get any better so feel that it is preferable to remain in their present state. In other instances it may be that the person enjoys the attention that they get when they are ill. In these situations the Healer has to remember that the person has Free Will and the right to make that choice.
